Reserve Bank cuts OCR to 3.25% from 3.5%

The Reserve Bank surprised markets with a 25 basis point cut, lowering the Official Cash Rate to 3.25%.

Economists expect the lower rate will keep mortgage costs subdued and stimulate buyer activity heading into winter.
